Robertson Earns Second NJCAA Baseball Player of the Week Honors
Charlotte, NC – For a second time this season, Surry's Connor Robertson has been named as the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Baseball Player of the Week. Robertson, a third baseman and outfielder helped lead Surry to a three-game sweep of Region 10 opponent, Virginia Peninsula Communtity College on March 21-22. In the three game series, the freshman from Mooresville, North Carolina batted .625 with two homeruns, nine RBI's, and two runs scored. In the opener against the Gators, Robertson went 2-3 with a homerun, four RBI's, four runs scored, and two walks to lead Surry to a 12-7 win. The second game of the series saw Robertson going 2-4 with a homerun, three RBI's, and one run scored to lead Surry to another 12-7 win. In the series finale, Robertson continued his torrid streak at the plate going 1-1 with a double, two RBI's, one run scored, and a walk in leading the Knights over Virginia Peninsula, 15-3.
