Jones Named Allstate NACDA Good Works Team Nominee

Cleveland, Ohio – The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced the student-athlete nominees for the 2025–26 Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Spring), recognizing male and female student-athletes across all divisions and sports who go above and beyond in their commitment to community service, academic achievement, and athletic performance.

Surry's Aaron Jones, a sophomore baseball student-athlete from China Grove, North Carolina, has been recognized as one of the nominees. Jones currently serves as president of Surry's Student Government Association (SGA), among many leadership roles on campus. In addition, he is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) president and a student trustee (ex officio) member of the Surry Community College Board of Trustees. Jones serves on the Instructional Committee, Academic Council, and Academic Appeals/Student Grievance Committee at Surry. He has also served on the Student Advisory Council for the Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education.

This past season, Jones helped lead Surry to the Region 10 and Mid-Atlantic District Championships, along with a berth in the NJCAA World Series, with the Knights finishing fifth nationally. While at Surry, he has been named to the President's List and the NJCAA Region 10 All-Academic Team.

In the community, Jones has led and participated in local homeless shelter assistance initiatives, served residents in nursing homes, volunteered with Foothills Food Pantry, assisted with veterans' luncheons, and volunteered with Surry County's "Give a Kid a Christmas" campaign, helping assemble food boxes for residents in need. In addition, Jones has spoken to several local elementary and middle school students about the importance of faith, leadership, and education.
Jones is a member of the Youth Christian Initiative (YCI) Club and the Chick-fil-A Leadership Club, and he has attended the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Winter Blast Winter Retreat for the past two years.

The 2025–26 Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Spring) includes 137 nominees representing 13 collegiate sports, including baseball, beach volleyball, golf, lacrosse, softball, tennis, and rowing. A distinguished selection committee of athletics directors, former student-athletes, and industry leaders will choose the final 20-member team — 10 female and 10 male student-athletes — set to be announced in late April. One student captain will also be named to represent the group.

About the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team:
The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team was established in 2024 to recognize male and female student-athletes across all collegiate sports and divisions for their leadership in community service, academics, and athletics. Building on the legacy of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, which has honored college football players since 1992, this expanded initiative highlights the impact of student-athletes who go beyond the game to serve others.

About NACDA:
Now in its 61st year, NACDA is the professional and educational association for more than 24,000 college athletics administrators at more than 2,300 institutions throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
