Surry Student-Athletes Earn All-Region Academic Honors
Kinston, NC - Surry Community College recently had a record 35 student-athletes receive spring All-Region honors for their academic performance. All-Academic honors are presented to Region 10 student-athletes who achieved at least a 3.0 grade point average while earning a minimum of twelve credit hours and participating in a spring semester sport.
"We are excited to have our student-athletes honored by Region 10 for their academic performance," said Surry Athletic Director Mark Tucker. "Our student-athletes have had an outstanding academic year both on the field and in the classroom. Our coaches emphasize the importance of academics on a daily basis and we are very fortunate to have the support from our administration, faculty, and staff. This past year, our student-athletes attended over 2,000 hours of study hall and tutoring in our Academic Support Center with both teams having grade point averages well above a 3.0.
